Track it with FurNote, step by step

1. STEP 01

   Set up the schedule first

   Follow the medication reminder guide to add your medication schedule. Once it's set, your device notifies you at each dose time.

2. STEP 02

   Mark each dose as given

   When the reminder arrives, open FurNote and confirm the dose on that medication. FurNote records the exact time it was marked.

3. STEP 03

   A care record is created automatically

   Confirming a dose adds an entry to the care record with the medication name and the time it was given. That timestamped log becomes your record of what happened and when, ready for your next vet visit.

4. STEP 04

   See who logged it (family sharing)

   With family sharing on, every member's confirmation is recorded with a timestamp. Who handled the 8 p.m. dose, what time it actually happened, whether one got missed, it's all there, no debate needed.

5. STEP 05

   Export the adherence history

   Go to Export, select the care records over the last 30 days, and generate a PDF. If a treatment doesn't seem to be working as expected, your vet can look at an objective log, 'missed one on the 5th, three hours late on the 12th,' instead of guessing. Whether that pattern matters is theirs to judge.

Why track medication adherence at all?

Long-term treatments lean heavily on doses being given consistently, and studies of human patients put average adherence around half. Pets rely entirely on us to remember, so an objective record guards against the 'I'm sure we gave it' illusion.

I forgot to tap confirm. Can I add it later?

Yes. Open the medication schedule and confirm the dose, and FurNote uses the time you tap. If you want the exact time it was actually given, add a care entry manually and set the recorded-at time. The form accepts past times.

We missed a dose. What should we do?

What to do about a missed or late dose depends on the medication and your vet's instructions, so that's a question for them. FurNote's role is simply to record what happened accurately, which gives your vet the facts to advise on.

Someone tapped the wrong button. How do we fix it?

Care entries can be edited or deleted. Open Records, then Care, find the entry, and adjust the recorded time or remove it. Keeping the mistaken entry and adding a note to explain it leaves a cleaner trail.

Can we tell apart doses given by a non-family sitter, like a boarding facility?

Not currently. Family sharing is all-or-nothing, with no limited role for a temporary caregiver. A practical workaround is to note what a sitter reports in the care record's comments or under a vet visit.
