Track it with FurNote, step by step

1. STEP 01

   Check your plan (multiple pets need Pro)

   Free manages a single pet. To track two or more, you'll need Pro, which lifts the pet limit.

2. STEP 02

   Create a profile for each pet

   In the Pets tab, tap plus and add each one with name, breed, birth date, and build. Every pet gets an independent profile, so records never blur together.

3. STEP 03

   Weigh on a fixed day and order

   Pick the same day each week, such as Sunday morning, and the same order each time to reduce the chaos of multiple pets. With a home scale, weigh yourself holding the empty carrier, then holding the carrier with the pet inside.

4. STEP 04

   Add each pet's weight separately

   In Records, switch to the first pet at the top, open the Weight tab, tap plus, enter the value and time, and save. Then switch to the next pet and repeat.

5. STEP 05

   Read the per-pet dashboard alerts

   FurNote reads each pet's dashboard alerts independently against 30 days ago: a drop over 5% or a rise over 10% raises its own card. You might see one card for a cat down 6% and another for a cat up 12%, never averaged away.

My two pets fight over the scale. What can I do?

Use the carrier method and weigh one at a time: weigh one pet, set them elsewhere, then weigh the next. A treat can keep the pet on the scale focused, and if they're really competitive, separate them for a few minutes before weighing.

Why can't I estimate one pet's weight from another?

Individuals differ too much. Even littermates vary in build, activity, and appetite, and total food consumed tells you little in a multi-pet home. It's worth the 30 seconds to weigh each one.

One pet is overweight and another underweight. How do I handle that?

A common cause is the bigger pet stealing food. Options include feeding them separately by room or time, matching each pet's food to its needs, or using a microchip feeder. Log diet and weight per pet in FurNote and re-check in 2-4 weeks, and work with your vet on a structured plan.

Will the weight records get mixed up?

No. Each record is tied to a pet ID, so lists and trend charts stay separate. Switching pets shows only that pet's history, and PDF exports are generated one pet at a time.

I have five pets and weighing weekly is a lot.
